How to Setup Live Streaming on Your Church Website

Are you ready to live stream your services? ChurchSpring makes it easy!

Do you live stream from Facebook, YouTube, or another platform? Great! You can easily integrate your live streams into your ChurchSpring site so that your website visitors can easily view your live streams and be notified of upcoming live streams!

Step 1: Find your Live Stream URL

We integrate with any live stream platform! Login to your live streaming provider and find your live stream URL. You may need to ask your live streaming provider's Support if you're unable to find this URL.

Facebook Live

If you use Facebook for live streaming, simply navigate to your church's Facebook Page and copy the URL. For example, https://www.facebook.com/yourhandle

YouTube Live Stream

If you use YouTube for live streaming, simply navigate to your church's YouTube Page and copy the channel URL.

  1. Login to your church's YouTube Account
  2. Click on your profile icon at the top right of the screen
  3. Click "Your Channel"
  4. Copy your Channel URL that appears. For example, https://www. youtube.com/channel/5555ooo555ooo

Step 2: Configure your ChurchSpring Website for Live Streaming

  1. Login to your ChurchSpring website
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Click on the "Website" tab
  4. Click on the "Live Streaming" sub tab
  5. Paste your live stream URL into the box
  6. Click the "Save" button and you're ready for Step 3!

Congrats! When you live stream an event, your website visitors will now be directed off site to your live stream host (Facebook, YouTube, etc.) where they can view your live stream!

Step 3: Set up your website event

Once you have completed steps above, you are ready to notify your website visitors of your live stream event! Now all you have to do is create a new event (or edit an existing one) on your website for the date and time that you will go live on your live stream platform (such as Sept. 1 at 10 am) and toggle the "Live Stream Event" option to green to turn on a series of live stream events on your website.

After you save the event you will see a countdown clock on every page once the event is less than 48 hours away. When your event is less than 24 hours away, you will also notice a new slider on your homepage which displays a countdown clock until the event begins. Then, when your live stream event begins, your home page slider will update with a button to direct people to view your live stream video!

Step 4: Go Live!

Congrats! You are now ready to go live in your live stream platform! Don't forget, ChurchSpring integrates with any live stream platform but we are not your actual live stream provider, so be sure to go live on Facebook, YouTube, etc.

Tips & Tricks

  • Always test your live stream event before your actual live stream event (such as your Sunday worship service).
  • Consider a multistream platform such as https://restream.io/ to stream live to multiple social platforms at once such as your Facebook, YouTube, etc. social platforms
  • People will only be able to view your Facebook Live video if they have a Facebook account
  • Upload your live stream video after your event has ended as a video sermon upload! You'll need to upload your video first to a 3rd party video platform and then you can add your via to your website via an embed code. Learn more here.

Advanced Live Stream Integration in your ChurchSpring Site

If you have a live stream provider that provides one specific embed code for all your live streaming events, you can integrate your live stream events to appear directly in your ChurchSpring site. Website visitors can then view your live stream video within your ChurchSpring site instead of being directing off site. Note: Neither Facebook nor YouTube provides one embed code to view all live stream videos by a user.

Step 1: Find your live stream embed code in your live stream platform
Step 2: Configure your ChurchSpring website for live streaming
  1. Login to your ChurchSpring website
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Click on the "Website" tab
  4. Click on the "Live Streaming" sub tab
  5. Click the "Advanced Settings"
  6. Paste the Embed Code in the field box
  7. Click the "Save" button and you're set!
