How to setup live streaming on your church website

Are you ready to live stream your services? ChurchSpring makes it easy!

Do you live stream from Facebook, YouTube, or another platform? Great! You can easily integrate your live streams into your ChurchSpring site so that your website visitors can easily view your live streams and be notified of upcoming live streams!

Step 1: Find your Live Stream URL

Facebook Live

If you use Facebook for live streaming, simply navigate to your church's Facebook Page and copy the URL. For example, https://www.facebook.com/yourhandle

YouTube Live Stream

  1. Login to your church's YouTube Account
  2. Click on your profile icon at the top right of the screen
  3. Click on the "YouTube Studio" or "Creator Studio" link in the pulldown menu
    1. If YouTube Studio
      1. Click "Other Features" in the left side menu and select "Live Stream Now"
      2. Scroll to the bottom of the "Live Stream Now" page until you see a section with "Share" on the bottom right.
      3. Copy the URL in the "Share" block
    2. If Creator Studio
      1. Click on the "Live Streaming" link in the left column
      2. Right click on the video player and select the "Copy embed code" option

Step 2: Configure your ChurchSpring Website for Live Streaming

  1. Login to your ChurchSpring website
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Click on the "Website" tab
  4. Click on the "Live Streaming" sub tab
  5. Paste your live stream URL into the box
  6. Click the "Save" button and you're ready for Step 3!

Congrats! When you live stream an event, your website visitors will now be directed off site to your live stream host (Facebook, YouTube, etc.) where they can view your live stream!

Step 3: Go Live!

Once you have completed steps above, you are ready to stream your first live event! Now all you have to do is create a new event (or edit an existing one) and click the "Yes" option in the form when asked about live streaming.

After you save the event you will see a countdown clock on every page once the event is less than 48 hours away. When your event is less than 24 hours away, you will also notice a new slider on your homepage which displays a countdown clock until the event begins.

Advanced Live Stream Integration in your ChurchSpring Site

If you have a live stream provider such as YouTube that provides one specific embed code for all your live streaming events, you can integrate your live stream events to appear directly in your ChurchSpring site. Website visitors can then view your live stream video within your ChurchSpring site instead of being directing off site. Note: Facebook does not provide one embed code to view all live stream videos by a user.

Step 1: Find your live stream embed code
  1. Login to your church's YouTube Account
  2. Click on your profile icon at the top right of the screen
  3. Click on the "YouTube Studio" or "Creator Studio" link in the pulldown
    1. If YouTube Studio
      1. Click "Other Features" in the left side menu and select "Live Stream Now"
      2. Scroll to the bottom of the "Live Stream Now" page until you see a section with "Share" on the bottom right.
      3. Right click on the video player and select the "Copy Embed Code" option
    2. If Creator Studio
      1. Click on the "Live Streaming" link in the left column
      2. Right click on the video player and select the "Copy embed code" option
Step 2: Configure your ChurchSpring website for live streaming
